Madison River - Flyfishing Trip

Gary went fishing with John, who is a guide at Slide Inn.  The trip was a lot of fun and Gary caught a lot of fish.  The largest was an 18-1/2" brown trout.  Gary mainly worked on streamer fishing which uses big hair flies. What a wonderful way to end a great flyfishing trip.

Norris Geyser Basin - Yellowstone National Park

We hike around the Porcelain Basin and Back Basin (about 2 miles).  We had a beautiful sunny and warm day for the hike.  On the way home from West Yellowstone we saw a badger crossing the road.

Bryce Canyon National Park

The hoodoos of Bryce Canyon are unique. There is still snow in the canyon and along the rim but it is a beautifully sunny day for the drive through the park.

Cedar City, Utah

Two inches of snow fell during the night at the Cedar City KOA. The snow was pretty but melted really fast after the sun came out. Nice quiet RV park with friendly hosts.

Zion National Park

Zion National Park is spectacular! We spent three days hiking and touring the park. We stayed in the Zion River RV Park, Virgin, UT, which is a well designed and accommodating RV park. Our cat loved climbing the trees.

Slot Canyon - Page, AZ

Touring a slot canyon is fun, frustrating and (with the wind blowing) sandy. Our guide made the whole trip worthwhile. He was very knowledgeable about the canyon and all of our cameras. He made the trip fun even with the number of people in the canyon. The canyon was really a different world.

Rainbow Bridge National Monument

We took a four hour, round-trip boat cruise 50 miles up Lake Powell to Rainbow Bridge National Monument. It was a sunny warm day and the trip was spectacular.

Rainbow Bridge is 290 feet high, its red, sandstone arch spans 275 feet, with a thickness at the top of 42 feet.
